Supplement Industry Lies

Let’s talk about supplements—the powders, pills, and potions that promise superhuman strength, rapid fat loss, and boundless energy. While some of them might help, here’s the kicker: The supplement industry is like the Wild West—barely regulated, full of shady characters, and sometimes straight-up dangerous.

What They Don’t Want You to Know

Unlike prescription medications, supplements don’t have to go through strict FDA approval before hitting store shelves. That means companies can cut corners, mislabel ingredients, or even sneak in illegal substances—all without getting caught right away.

Sounds bad? It gets worse.

Real-Life Supplement Horror Stories

  • The Pre-Workout That Sent People to the ER – The popular supplement Jack3d contained DMAA, a stimulant linked to heart attacks, strokes, and even death. It was eventually banned, but not before causing serious harm.

  • Weight Loss Pills... with a Side of Cancer Risk – In 2013, the FDA warned that certain fat-burning supplements contained BMPEA, a compound similar to amphetamines. The worst part? The manufacturers never listed it on the label.

  • Poison in Protein Powders – Independent testing has found that some protein powders are contaminated with lead, arsenic, and cadmium—heavy metals that can cause everything from kidney damage to neurological issues.

The Safe Alternative? Real Food.

Here’s the truth: Everything your body needs is already in actual food. As Hippocrates wisely said, “Let food be thy medicine.”

  • Need protein? Eat chicken, fish, eggs, beans, nuts or seeds.

  • Need an energy boost? Carbs from whole grains, fruits, and veggies fuel you naturally.

  • Want to recover faster? Healthy fats, hydration, and sleep work wonders!

  • Need to take a daily multivitamin? Drink a green smoothie every day for the real thing!

No sketchy powders. No hidden chemicals. Just real, whole food that your body recognizes.

The Bottom Line

Not all supplements are bad, but many are unreliable, unnecessary, and sometimes dangerous. If you’re unsure about something, let’s talk—I’d rather help you build a smart, food-based nutrition plan than see you gamble with your health.

Train hard, eat smart, and always read the fine print!

See you at the gym,
